pinching

Yea, so I read somewhere that to get really great bushy basil plants, I need to pinch the stems. Now, I'm not really sure what "pinch" means. do I pinch so hard that I take part off (to trimming in a sence.. ? ) .. or just enough to wake it up :p Anyone got a clearer definition?

When you pinch plants it means using your thumb nail to actually remove the top portion of the plant. You can also use scissors or pruning shears.
