Gardenia dropping buds

I have a healthy gardenia in my sunroom with a Southwestern exposure, and while the plant seems to do well and has a lot of new growth, it drops its buds before they have a chance to bloom. The temperature in the sunroom does tend to get hot in the mid-late afternoon, but other than that, it seems like this would be an ideal environment for a gardenia to bloom.

Any ideas? Thanks.

gardenias set buds when the night time temperature drops below 65F, and
yours seem comfortable enough to do that.
They may not like the afternoon heat, depending on how hot it gets.
- We have gardenias in the yard, and it doesn't get to more than 90F here.
They seem to like that.

Are you sure you are watering it well enough? If they have any water stress they drop their buds as well.
