My bunny ears..........
Hi all,
I have a opuntia cactus that has tiny little white bubbles coming out of the glochids. The bubbles aren't liquid, they seem to be dry, and they aren't on every tuft, just a few on each pad. I'm worried they might be egg sacs from some bugs. (Haven't had a bug invasion though.) I've had the cactus for a couple years and never noticed this before, but then again I didn't look this closely before. What do you think?

It could be scale. This site has some photos http://www.ext.vt.edu/departments/en...leinsects.html
When I worked as a plant tech we'd use a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol as a treatment, killed them right nice. :)

I have an Opuntia Microdasys and is has something similar to what you describe. However it is clear, and gel-like, so I think it may be sap. I'm not not worried about in as the plant is very healthy and is growing well. But should I be concerned?
