    I you are still watching this site here is a suggestion.

    I read on a hummingbird site that the "Jacob Kline" variety is supposed to be more mildew resistant than any of the other varieties. If you want hummingbirds they said not to use the 'purple' variety.

    I only know this since I have* been looking at info on hummingbird gardens. They should be compatable for your Zone since I am in Zone 4, Minnesota.

    Chris, great advice.** For those having trouble with powdery mildew the older varieties seem to suffer more.* They tend to lose their lower leaves, so I plant something in front of mine to hide their bare knees.* take a look here for homemade powdery mildew solutions (pun intended).* ;)

    When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
