help with identification
I have a perennial bush, I guess it is, that produces red berries. My sister says it looks like currants, but doesn't bunch like currants do. The birds will not eat the berries. Anybody have any ideas???

Definitely not currants. The leaves look different too.
The berries are too small to see this, but currants have 'remains' of the
flowers at the bottom (a rough circle for a minimum).
You can't judge from the behavior of birds whether these are poisonous
to people ...
I'd call up the extension service and ask.
