    Pumpkins never took, very curious

I tried to grow some pumpkins this year. I have had excellent luck in the past at a different location. My plant was incredibly successful, but the pumpkins themselves never took. They would start forming and get about the size of a golf ball and then would shrivel and fall off. This repeated countless times, probably 20-30 witherings. Perhaps I overwattered? Or got a late start? Or the soil at my new location sucks?

Any answers would be much appreciated. This is just curiosity, obviously there is nothing to be done at this point, I already ripped out the plant.

You fruit failed because of pollenation. Try buying some Mason Bee farms to enhance your pollenation.
