World Record Pumpkin

What would you consider a worlds largest pumpkin? Should it be solid without a hole to the cavity or just the heaviest?

The largest pumpkin is over 1400 lbs, but it may not be considered the worlds record.

Hi Backyardgardener,
I think it should be a combination of size and weight. This was my first year growing pumpkin, and it was fun. For the heck of it I Planted 1 plant on the edge of my garden. I started with 4 pumpkin and two turmed yellow and fell off when about the size of a grapefruit. But the other two grew to a nice size. I will have them lit on Halloween!
I enjoyed your website. Thats a whole lotta pumpkin!!!! Maybe I will try for a record pumpkin next year.
