Need help identifying this shrub for my sons project

    Hi,

I am hoping that someone can help me identify this shrub. I live in Southern Ontario and this shrub is about 3 feet in diameter and about 3 fieet tall. It has red oblong leaves on it right now which stay on through the winter. The leaves fall off in the spring and then it gets green leaves. It also blooms a long thin white things in the spring. These don't actually turn into flowers though, they just kind of dry up and fall off. The leaves average about 3 to 4 inches in length.

    Hi Jane,

How about Euonymus alata - burning bush?

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
