What could this growth be on the branches of this cherry tree? The tree seems in pretty good health, just this funky growth. Have several black cherry trees in the same area and do not see this growth on any others.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
