    Buying a Big tree?

I'm trying to find a place that sells big trees but I can't find anyone who sells them. I'm looking to run a row of trees across the front of my house but I don't want to wait forever for the trees to grow, so I'm looking to get a head start and get some trees that are a little older, something with some size to them. Not that I was looking for them last summer but I think I was at every nursery around here ( Bucks County, Pa) and I don't recall seeing anyone selling really big trees.
I know that when a new shopping center is built , the landscapers usually plant larger tree, but where do they get them from?
Any help would be great even though I know there will probable be a chance after I see the prices on them I will probable change my mind, but I would still like to see how much they will run and how much it would cost to have them planted.

    Hi Yellotang,

I'm not from your area so someone else will have to help you out with nursery's and such. However, I'm writing to tell you not to get discouraged if you don't find big trees- if you mulch and water properly, it has been shown that a one year old tree will be the same size in 10 years as a 5 year old tree planted under the same conditions. Both take time proportionate to how old they are to establish- but either would be much happier with mulch.

I'm working on trying to dig up those studies but in the meantime, here's a short article on mulch.

    Good luck!
