Can you help me identify this tree?

Hi! my name is Ronnie and I am new to this site. I am just starting to show interest in my yard. I watch Rally Around the House everyday and I guess that is what got me interested in it. Anyway, my brother's neighbor has a beautiful tree in his backyard. The only problem is nobody knows what kind of tree it is. Maybe one of you can help me. This tree is anywhere between 15-20ft tall. It's leaves are pretty dark and the flowers that bloom on it are a cluster of purple flowers spread out. It has a sweet fragrance to it. If anyone can lead me to what it may be I would appreciate it. I am not too sure. It looks like it but it wasn't as wide nor did it have as much flower blooms. It reminded me more of an apple tree...with the flowers spread out as much as apples are. The tree is dominately green. Thanks for the picture....it is helping me in figuring out what this tree is. :D
