I would prefer evergreen non-deciduous, but I'd like a moderate to fast grower. Plus I need something cattle won't want to eat...which is why I think non-deciduous would be best.
So far nothing seems to match and I'm wondering if it's possible to meet what I need exactly.
Canadian Hemlock looks best, but is considered a slow to moderate growth rate. Leland cypress is in about the same boat and seems to cost more. All thoughts and opinions welcome. The ground is well drained and very rich. I don't know it's Ph as I've never checked it. Ground is mostly level on a hillside, and the house sits facing north northeast. Gets very strong winds quite often.
I'm in zone 7ish. I live in southeast Tennessee.
