Lilac Tree Fungus

hi my lilac trees have white fungus on them and i want to know about it and what type it is. What are some solutions to this? Thanks heres a photo i took of it.

Hi R Goeke,

I'm stumped and aparently so are others. It sorta looks like some sort of scale. The plant is outside? Is it still covered in it? Have you tried to hose or wipe it off?
