Sick Weaping Cherry Tree?

HELP!!!* Our beautiful tree is three years old and just discovered that the bark on the trunk* in some spots have disappeared and paper thin and shredding.* We tried to see if there was active critters in the trunk but could not see any activity. We can see the grafts clearly inside the trunk.* It did have sap ouzing for a while and did not notice anything wrong with the trunk. That was about 4 weeks ago.

Any idea about what is going on would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a bit confused when you say you can see the grafts.* Is there more then one graft?* That would be unusual.* Can you post a picture or two?

I only got the one picture and it's a bit small.* I'm wondering if this is a weeping Higan cherry as the bark of this tree will peel.* Does it look like this?
