snow fountain weeping cherry tree

[align=left]I planted a Snow Fountain Weeping Cherry tree 3 weeks ago. ALl of a sudden I notice that many of the leaves have these spots that look eaten. Not on the edge of the leaves, but in the middle. They have a brown ring where it looks eaten or diseased. Also, some of the leaves have turned orange/red. Too much water? Too little water? Disease??? Can anyone help???[/align]

Hi Walt,

There is a fungal disease called cherry leaf spot aka shot hole fungus.* Is this what you see?

If that is it and you choose to use a commercial fungicide, know that it should NEVER be used near children or pregnant women.* I would recommend trying a homemade remedy first.* The apple cider fungicide would be a good one to use as the fungicides that work against cherry leaf spot also work against scab.

[align=left]Thank you so much for the response. What I see is like buckshot holes in the leaves with a brown rimming around the holes, not purple spotting as in the picture. I also noticed that a few leaevs have turned red/orange, as they would normally do in the Fall. But, I will look again to see if that is what is really there (i.e. the purpulish spots).* Will let you know what i find. Also, what other types of fungicide would you recommend? Any particular brand that you would endorse? No small children or pregnant women around.[/align]

Walt, I'm so sorry I forgot to give you the info on shot hole aka Coryneum blight.* I think that may be what you have.* It effects several trees as well as cherries.
