    [align=left]I have cut down a unwanted crab apple tree in the backyard a year ago , Now I have all these little small trees trying to grow in the yard , When I try to dig them out - They appear to be attached to the old roots --- I am not having any luck from anyone local on what I should do so I figured someone here could advise me -------How do I get rid of them , can it be done without killing the grass all around.......sure did not plan on this when I cut the tree down............Thank you to anyone that responds...........David[/align]

    Hi David,

    Many trees will send up sprouts from the roots still in the ground once you've cut down the tree.* I had a locust tree do that for 4 years!* You can just continue to mow them or help the stump rot more quickly.* Here's how.

    When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

    When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
