My weeping willow is dying out and i cant find reason for it. Abt 2 months ago i noticed that the outer parts of the limbs all the leaves were dying and falling off and upon closer inspection the limbs had died also , I have lost 3 of my large limbs so far and am watching the others slowely die out , i have checked the bark for bugs and the leaves also and the only thing i have found is those annoying japanese beatles. The tree is 11 yrs old and has been kept pruned*and fed . this is first yr i have had any problem with it.Can someone help because it would break my heart to loose this tree because i planted in memory of my brother when he died.

    thank you

    Hi Andrea,

So sorry for your loss.* Unfortunately willows, including Salix babylonica - weeping willow and Salix capria pendulata - dwarf weeping willow aka Kilmonock willow, are prone to many diseases and pests and are short lived trees.* Take a look at these to see if any of it fits what you see.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
