WHEN TO TRANSPLANT A TREE

Could anyone tell me when is the best time of year to transplant a tree? I live in southeastern North Carolina and the tree I would like to move is about 10 feet tall. Thanks for any info.

Hi BEACH026,

The best time to transplant is during the dormant season. Either wait until most of the heat is gone or after the danger of frost is gone in the spring. Be sure to get a sizable root ball and to replant it at the same level it was at previously.
