for any type of veggies or plants ...are newspapers good for mulch? Or are the ones you can buy better?

Newspaper works well as a week block when put down in sheets.* About 5 or 6 dampened layers works well, but you will still need to put a mulch on top of the newspaper or it will blow away with the first breeaze once it dries.* That is why you should moisten it when you put it down or you'll be chasing it all over the yard like I did and have your neighbors laughing at you!**

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

Haha that's funny :)*. Is it okay for me to just put 5/6 damp layers with like cinder block holding it down? What do you mean by a mulch on top? Soil?

The newspaper works better as a weed block.* It breaks down over time.* You could put down newspaper and put dried grass clippings on top or shredded bark mulch.* The newspaper will help stop any weed seeds in or on the soil from sprouting and the mulch will help keep the soil moist and the soil temps more even.* If you put down wet grass clippings the clumps will hold too much moisture and become mush and could cause bacterial or fungal problems.* If the grass clippings are from a bag from the lawn mower, spread them out in the veggie garden in a thin layer of about an inch or so thick so they can dry.

    You should find this helpful.
