butternut squash

:?: how do you tell when to pick butternut squashi have a garden full of butternut,acorn,and summercrookneck that is taking over i know when to pick the cn, but dont know anything about the other help please

I may be wrong here, but I thought all the cucurbites are more or less the
same in that you pick them when the vine dies? - That's what I do with my
kabocha. Don't know about cucumbers and zucchinin though, I think I'd
pick those earlier.
