Hi all!* New to this site - very nice place you've got here!

I have planted green beans for many years now with no problems.* We moved last fall, so I've started with a new slate.*

I have no idea what is causing this on the my plants.* It's spotty - and I don't know if it's a bug, the soil, fungus - or what.* Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciatted!

    Thanks in advance....:)

    Hi Julz,

Congratulations on your new home!* I don't see any yellowing, especially around the brown/tan areas, so I'm having a difficult time with id of the problem as most have yellowing somewhere on the leaf.* Any possibility of herbicide drift?* Was there any wilting of the leaves or plants?* You also don't show your location in your profile and that would be helpful as some viruses are more prevalent in different states (if you're in the US).* Take a look at these to see if anything fits what you've seen.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

Hi Newt!* Thanks for responding so quick!!* We're in Central Illinois.* Right across the river from St. Louis MO.*

Now that you mentioned it - our new neighbor was spraying along his side of the fence for poison ivy last week.** It's about 5-6 feet away.*I hadn't noticed this problem before then.* I thought it might be some kind of blight / fungus problem.* My mom said it looked like leaf miners to her.*

But I have some peppers that i've grown from seed in pots right next to the fence which is much closer and they're not showing any signs of stress.* Maybe the peppers can handle it better?** I was just getting a little worried because I've not seen one bloom on the plants yet.* They're about 3-4 weeks old now.*

Maybe the wind drift wasn't towards the peppers?* I'd say to see if any new leaves are effected since the spraying happened.* I would definitely would mention it to your neighbor and maybe he can use some type of sheild when he sprays.* Besides, you probably don't want that stuff sprayed where you grow veggies.
