Need help finding pepper
I'm trying to find the name of a yellow semi block semi/hot pepper. Our family used to can these and they looked like a yellow pepper but were semi/hot. We have tried everywhere and can't find them. And of course the recipe has been passed down and us younger generation can't find the right pepper to do the recipe with. We have a store and even our produce provider is having trouble figuring it out. He sent us some peppers that were longer but not thick enough to stay crisp for the recipe. Can anyone help?

Hi BigLeague,
I'm wondering if the peppers were picked before they were completely ripe or when young so their skins were tougher.
You might want to ask here.

Maybe this site will be helpful.

I'd love to know if you find them. Good luck with your search.

I'm not sure...all I remember is that they were the size of green bell peppers and a firm skin/thick and semi hot...required gloves to clean them!

I did a google search with the term: semi block pepper and that led me to this site. There are some Hungarian similar to what you describe.

I also found a site that described a Hungarian Medium Hot Block approximately 4" long and 3" wide with 4 lobes. Could that be it? You might want to try these sites too.
