    Planting Corn

    Hi

I live in Georgia in Planting Zone 8 I believe and was just wondering if anyone could tell me the best dates to plant corn for animal feeding purposes. Buying corn is beginning to be an expensive thing.

    Thanks

    Hi Mira,

Plant after last frost date when the soil temp is 55*F or higher. Click on both of these links for helpful info.

According to this site, you could plant with the last frost date in Savannah - March 10th, but do check the soil temp.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

I've always heard that you plant corn when oak leaves are the size of squirrel's ear.
