I live in Michigan and a little over two weeks ago we had some great weather, I checked out the future forecast and it said the lows would not dip below 50's....I know you cant really predict the weather that far but it's almost June.* Well I planted my cucumber seeds and green bean seeds. Since then we have had a couple of days of frost and really really wet weather. I think by now at least the cucumbers should already be sprouting.* I have never done green beans so I'm not sure on that. It was 2 weeks this past Wednesday. Are my seeds going to grow when the weather stays warm or do I need to plant new seeds? I'm not a great gardner....yet....but I have always had luck with cucumbers!

    Hi Amy,

Michigan has hardiness zones 3 through 6.*

Here's a planting calendar for hardiness zone 5 you can use as a guide.

For the sprouting of seeds it would be the soil temps that would determine when they would sprout.* If the seeds are in the ground for 3 weeks or more they probably won't sprout.* Your seed packet should tell you how long it takes for the seeds to sprout (germinate).

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
