Tiny plants bearing vegetables???

I am not a new gardener and have had many years of great gardens and vegetables, BUT... I am in a new house, so, a*new garden area got tilled this year. Soil was nice, a bit acidic I feared because of the mossy lawn and pines*in the area. I Limed and added my usual bone and blood meal and have also since added a general fertilizer. Zuchinni seems fine, cukes seem ok too, tomatoes are fair, but the pepper plants and bush beans have bolted to bearing veggies on tiny plants. The eggplants also are small but not blossoming either. Carrots are also fine. Any Ideas.* On another note the garden is by the road right by a street light is there any effect from this... good or bad.* Thanks in advance to all respondants.

Hi Todd,

Are you growing any fennel nearby?* Fennel can cause other plants to bolt.* See the companion planting recommendations as well as bad combos at these sites.

As far as the light from the street lights, I would think that would cause more growth and larger plants more quickly.* At least that is what happens in Alaska with their long days.* I would be more concerned with the potential pollution in the soil from the cars.* Have you had a soil test done?
