    Tomatoes splitting

    Hi,

    My wife is growing tomatoes for the first time in our greenhouse.

    Things have been going well so far and they are beginning to ripen.

    However she has noticed that some have started to split.

    Does anyone have any idea why this happens and how to stop/cure it?

    Mine usually split after we get a big rain. Keeping them in a greenhouse I'm not so sure--do they split after being watered? Usually that is what does it--same with cabbages too.

    HI Mike,

    I'm pretty sure that tomatoes splitting is a sign of overwatering.
