UK vegetable gardeners

Hi!

I posted a similar message in the herbs section, but I would like some information on fruits/veggies now.

I will be moving to the UK later this year and wanted to know for next planting season if the following will grow well in English soil. I am sorry if these are stupid questions, but I really have no clue:

Strawberries
Jalapenos

welcome to the uk! you will find yourself in gardening heaven. strawberries are grown from one end of the UK to the other. and we have thousands of 'pick your own' farms, if you don't want to take up space growing them.

i have this year grown jalapenos for the first time, and they're gorgeous. most chili peppers need to be grown under glass here (in greenhouse), but they do superbly. there is an increasing number of varieties of seed available, but only this week did i finally find proper jalapeno seed (described as 'the pizza chili').
