Hi Marion,
Does it look anything like any of these?

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
Thank you very much for your link. Yes it does look something like that but it also is affecting the fruit.
We have had very humid weather here on the gold coast and it sounds like that is the cause. So there is not much i can do but remove affected fruit and make sure there is plenty of room around the plants.
Thanks again for your help
Marion
Marion, you are very welcome! I'm not sure where the gold coast is, but I suspect you aren't in the US. I'm not sure that matters, but the site I gave you was for the US. There should have been pictures of the leaves, stems and the fruit. If one of the named diseases was only shown on a leaf or stem, do a google search with that disease and click on 'Images' to see if you see it for the fruit.
Btw, which disease did you think it was?

Yes Newt , I am not in the US. The Gold Coast is a part of Queensland Australia. Were it is warm most of the year. Thanks again for your help

Marion, I'm wondering if you have a name for the disease of your zucchini. There are home made remedies for many problems that won't harm your veggies or you.
