    Mgambo seeds

Hi! I'm new and very interested in an old post regarding mgambo seeds and someone who said they could provide 500 - 1000 a few times a year - are you still out there and interested? I would like to discuss it as I use them in art projects. Also would like to grow my own but have no idea as to care and conditions required - any information is welcomed. Thanks, Sharon Bender

    Mgambo seeds

If you find any answers could you pass them along? I have been looking for a supplier for these seeds for over a year now. I believe the harvest season is approaching and I would really like to place an order.

    Thank you!

I have been unsuccessful in finding the Latin name for these seeds.
    Thank you for your help.

I found the following latin names (one is probably a misspelling of the other):
    Majidea zanqueborica
    Majidea zanquebarica

a quick google search didn't come up with much useful information - other
that that there are trees growing about 30 miles from where I am.

I found the following other names:
    (quoted from http://www.kaahelehawaii.com/pages/culture_lei.htm)

Velvet Seed - Majidea zanqueborica also goes by the names of: Maambo, Mgambo, African Velvet Seed, Hawaiian Velvet Seed, African ***** Willow, Hawaiian ***** Willow, and Weleweka. The Hawaiian transliteration of "velvet" is "weleweka," giving the seed its modern Hawaiian name. Sometimes it is misspelled "wili weke," "wele weke," or "wele waka."

I hope this helps you find them.

    Aloha,
    Maren

    mgambo seeds

Hi. I can supply mgambo seeds in the 500-1000 amount several times
a year for whoever is interested. The hawaiian ***** willows have
become increasingly popular in the hawaiian islands. Mgambo Necklaces and earings have become a common sight at local markets and shops.
I am located on the big island of hawaii and have been making jewelry out of the seeds for a few years now. They are very beautiful and long lasting if treated properly. You can reach me at armadilloparadise@yahoo.com.

You may contact me at urimlgi@gmail.com. My initial post had the wrong email address. I've*corrected it now so you should be able to get through now.
