need help with melons and squash in raised beds
The space I have is a 20' x 20' plot.
For a 4' x 8' bed I was told I could grow three traditional melon plants per bed. However the varieties I'm growing are bush types and have short vines; they're more compact, bred to be grown in confined spaces.
How many bush type melons/squash could I grow in a raised bed?
Since vines are short, would I even need to trellis the melons/squash? Also, since it's a raised bed, they wouldn't have to grown in hills, would they?
What would the plant spacing need to be for an individual plant? It just says how far apart to space w/plant spacing if grown in hills, not individual plants; this would be for bush type melons and squash.
