Question Tomatoes in a Topsy Turvy / Yellow Leaves and Limp Appearance

I thought it would be fun to do a couple of plants in the “Topsy Turvy”, as seen on TV. The plants have done well with good looking vines and flowers. (I am in northern VA; there has been cooler weather earlier this month and with lots of rain. It has gotten quite warm over the past week)
Over the last 10 days both plants have gotten yellow leaves, which I attributed to over watering, yet they look shriveled up, as if they don’t have enough water.
Does anyone have any ideas? I’m a relatively new gardener.
ps, I have tomato plants in the yard garden that are not as large as the Topsy Turvy plants, but look normal. Thank you!
