My husband and I are very new to gardening.* We bought a tomato plant a few days ago, and now notice that the edges of the leaves are brown.* What's going on?* Too much water?* Not enough?* Too much sun?

I've included a few photos.* Thank you!

It could be leaf scorch from improper watering or it could be too soon to tell.* You might want to keep these two sites for reference if the problem progresses.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

    Newt,

Here's an update on the tomato plant.* None of the new leaves seem to have that problem.* I've also been doing some research (yes, I do research in addition to asking :)), and found that it may just be a matter of temperature fluctuations or going from a sheltered environment to full sun.* I'm thinking that was the problem.

K Mommy, thanks so much for the update.* I suspected leaf scorch from environmental conditions.* I'm glad that's all it was.* :)
