I have a clematis that I planted about three weeks ago.* The tips of the leaves are now turning black.* Some of the leaves are turning black around the edges.* Help.* Does anybody have an answer?

Hi JC,
Unfortunately not enough info here to really be helpful.* You don't say which clematis and how you are watering.* Did you add lots of compost to the entire planting area?* Browning leaves could be overwatering.* If it's the lower leaves that could just be the older leaves dying off.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
