New grass from seed--red stems

I recently re-seeded by lawn with a tall fescue mix. The grass is coming up and appears healthy, but some of the new stems are bright red. Others are partially red and partially green. The new ones just out of the ground seem to be completly red, and as they grow taller they are partially red and partially green. They seem otherwise healthly.

Is this expected? I'm worried it may be disease or something.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Thwebb,

Since you used a fescue mix, I'm thinking that you have more then one variety of fescue grass as there are many.* That would be the reason you are seeing different types of grass and different colors.* This is creeping red fescue and might be in your mix.* Is this what you see?
