Toadstool Lawn

My husband has worked hard over the three years we’ve lived here and now has a beautiful, lush lawn.* There is only one problem.* We have lots of little toadstools, both in the back shady lawn and the front sunny lawn.* How did we get them and how do we get rid of them?* Any suggestions?
