    Hi
Does anyone know much about this plant, Prairie Wild Rose - Rosa arkansana?* I was wondering how fast & how far it spreads.* I found that it grows 1-3' high and it spreads through suckering, but I didn't find out how far the spread is or how much work it is to keep it contained.* I like that it has deep roots so I can plant it on my sunny slope that just drys out like crazy.*

    I would appreciate any help!:D

    Hi Stella,

I don't grow this rose, but found this site that says the roots can go 20' deep.

This site says it's difficult to propagate.* Another site I found said it could take the seeds up to 2 years to germinate.

You could try searching google with both the common name and the botanical name.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

You are so very welcome!* Good luck with propagating it.
