*** I have a Westerland rose which I planted at the base of a huge old white pine in June of '06.* It bloomed nicely early last summer but did not rebloom as it was supposed to.* I'm wondering whether this has to do with proper pruning.* I've never had a climber before and I've read some confusing information about pruning climbers.* Does anyone have experience with this?*

I don't really care about having great heighth -- I'm more interested in good bloom

    Thank you,

Thanks that was very helpful link for me, as I'm about to buy my first climbing rose and wasn't sure how to eventually prune it to go horizontally across the fence.
