[align=center]A few years ago I was traveling in Karachi, Pakistan in mid summer.

I came across a tree that had not a single leaf but was full of red hot big flowers all over it.

    the trunk & branches*had almost a*fossil like appearance,(stone surface).

I would very much appreciate if you can help me find the name of that tree.

    Hi Sepidar,

Sounds like a lovely tree.* Got any pictures?

Pink Shaving Brush Tree aka Pseudobombax ellipticum
*aka Pseudobombax grandiflorum comes to mind but it's not native to the araa.

I thought of another tree, but it gets large thorny spines on the trunk and is a rare tree in Pakistan.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
