    Silver Lace Vine

    Hi there.

I live in the Okanagan, British Columbia (Pacific Northwest).

I have a 3-5 yr old silver lace vine growing on a trellis in my front yard. The first vine I planted was probably 5 yrs ago, it took a bit to establish, so I then I planted some more a yr or so later... now it is pretty full and healthy - the leaves anyway....

It gets full morning sun and a then filtered sun most of the afternoon (through the trees etc)...

I have never, ever seen one single bloom on it though the leaves are super healthy and it seems to grow more and more every year. :(

Is there anything I can do to get this guy blooming?

Perennial vines can take 3 to 5 years to establish their roots before they bloom. Fertilizing them can casue lots of leaf growth at the expense of flowers.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
