    Bellflower type flower

    I have attached 2 photos of a bellflower type flower. The bloom itself looks like a bellflower but the stems and leaves are a puzzle to me. The stems have very small spikes or thorns all all them. One of these photos shows the leaves and small thorns. Hope someone can ID for me. Thanks

    It is something in the Solanaceae.
    There are so many I cannot be sure which one it is.
    Possibly Solanum carolinense.
