Edible? Relative of Patty-Pans?
A neighbor has a pile of these and called them "gourds".
I'm hoping they are edible. They look like they are in the same family as the Patty-Pan squash which I like and grew(although the squash-borers cut the crop very short), and I'd love some feedback if anyone here has seen, displayed, or eaten these before. I'll try and post pictures- ![]() ![]()

Zilflip. I believe these are ornamental gourds. They are sold from seed called Shenot Crown of Thorns. The latin name is Cucurbita pepo.var oviferis. They do not appear to be edible.
