*** I planted a small tomato plant in a hanging planter over my balcony in March.* Recently I noticed a small patch of leaves sprouting out of the corner (It seemed that they appeared over night, but I may just not be very observant.)
I am curious to find out what this is because I'd hate to pull it out and discard it if it was edible or had some other use.
I'm located in Northern California (valley).

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hi Pacificamf,

Looks like a weed, but the pic is very blurry.* I'd say to remove it.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
