    Hi Sensiblepixie,

Are these wildflowers or flowers that you think someone planted that got out of control?*

And your backyard is located in what country?* If it's the US, what state?* If not in the US, what area or province of your country?

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

Hi there! Glad to receive a respond to this. Thank you!

    I'm currently in Malaysia, a tropical country. I've identified #2 and #3.

#2 - Eclipta alba which grows abundantly in the tropics.

    #3 - Cleome rutidosperma.

All four flowers grow wild. They were not planted. Hope that helps.

Thanks for getting back to me.* I'm glad you were able to get id on two of them.**:)** I'm not familiar with the flowers of Malaysia, but these folks might be able to help at the UBC Botanical gardens and you can post your pics.* Be sure to let them know the flowers grow in Malaysia.* Here's thier main page for their forums so you can read the rules and guidelines.
