It loves the sunshine. It has fine sticky hairs on the stem where the leaves begin. Its leaves are dark but turn green as they grow. It produces what looks like coffee beans, green then turning brown. I checked some images of coffee bean plants but didn't find one similar to this anywhere! Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Hi Wendy,

Where does this plant grow?* Are you in the US?* Do you have a picture of the entire plant?* Is this a shrub or maybe a tree?

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

    I think I found it - it is a Jatropha-gossypifolia!

Glad you found it.* I found some info on a couple of different sites.* The seeds are highly toxic.* The sticky hairs trap insects.* Here's another link with some growing info.
