Hi Chris,
I'm thinking when you say it climbs her tree, that it's an indoor tree.* The plant looks like Syngonium - arrowhead plant aka arrowhead philodendron, butterfly nephitis.* It comes in a variegated and plain green version.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
well the tree was out side and it was just one single vine, will it be like that or like the one in the pic u send and get bushy?
i have a pic of her's here on my phone ill attach it
Hi Chris,
I'm sure your friend must live in a zone much warmer then yours as these plants are only hardy outdoors in zone 10 and warmer.
I found this interesting site.

When you click on the link at the bottom of the page it takes you to these pics you can click on.

If you click on the link in the middle of the page you will see several named varieties.

I don't know if yours will get full like the one in the picture, but I suspect it won't as yours appears to be the species.* I have a very old one that was given to me about 40 years ago.* I have always pruned off the vines afte a while.* Here's a pic.* It's been in this pot for about 10 years and it's time to trim the vines.* I couldn't fit the entire plant in the pic, so the vine is longer then you see here.

[align=left]Hi Chris,
It's very philodendron like but figuring out exactly which species or variety can be tough. I think Newt is right that this is a houseplant that was put outdoors. Very tropical.
