I know that it's a houseplant, and I hope that it's okay I'm asking about houseplants on here. I don't know where else to turn though, and you all seem very knowledgable. I have searched other sites before turning to this one. I would like to give it the best care I can. Please help!

Looks like a cycad, maybe a zamia. Google images of cycads. It's not a sago palm or a coontie, but might be one of the others.
