This one should be an easy one for your guys

    Hello everyone,

So, my poison plant project is almost complete; but I think I've found a new hobby in horticulture. Still a newbie, and I still don't know enough about terminology to really tackle some of these identifications on my own.

This one just struck me as fasinating. I have no reason to think it is toxic, but I am dying to know its identity.

I found several of these (in a protected wilderness area in NYC) - not a part, everything was pretty much growing wild.

Leaves are large, VERY smooth, almost silky/satin like with fine hairs. The plants ranged from 4 - ~12' tall

I've attached a few others that I am interested in.

Finally, anyone have any GOOD websites that may help me get started in learning terminology so I can better identify these on my own?!

    #2 = Milk Weed
    #3 and/or 4 is Pachysandra

This site is pretty good for weed identification

    1. Verbascum thapsus.
Do have a look at this site. It has some really brilliant close up pics.

    2. Don't think it is right for Asclepia. Common name milkweed. Check thistle family

    3. 4. Agree Pachysandra terminalis.
