Hi all. I hope that someone can ID this plant which gave forth its first deep-red / purplish bell-shaped flowers FIVE YEARS after i first bought it - I didn't realize it was a flowering plant until that point. Now a new batch comes out every few motnhs. Thanks in advance!

    Hi Lrplants,

Do redish/orange flowers emerge out of the bell shaped structure or is that the flower?*

    Lipstick plant aka Aeschynanthus radicans:

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

That's the one! I can't believe I forgot to mention that a flower eventually emerges from the structure I showed.

Thanks alot. People's knowledge never ceases to amaze me!

You are so very welcome!* It sure is an unusual looking flower.* Maybe that's why I remembered it.

    Thanks for the compliment!

What a spectacular plant. It reminds me of a hoya I'm experimenting with.
