It does look alot like a variegated dogwood.** You can read through this description and scroll down to 'Cultivars/Varieties' at this first site.* Do you remember if it had red or yellow stems in the winter?

I'm going to be very busy this coming weekend and won't be able to get to the computer for a couple of days for very long.* Then I will be away without computer access from May 21st to May 29th.* You can always do a google search.* Put in the names you think and click on 'Images'.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
