    Are these a pest plant or are they worth keeping in the garden.* They are widely distributed throughout the flowerbed area and are just past the stage where they are showing cotyledon's only.* Can anyone help me know if these are worth keeping or are they a widespread weed?

    When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
